Predators and Prey is a dyed-in-the-wool thriller, set in India. It has a mix of technology, espionage, and a high-stake game of deception and ruthlessness. I would call it India’s first masala-tech-thriller!

The protagonist of the novel Suraj Bhatkal is an original character. However, there are traits of certain real-life cricketers. I modelled the batting stance of the Suraj on Shivnarine Chanderpaul, his bowling on Zaheer Khan and his captaincy style on what I thought Ravi Shastri could have been if he had captained India.

I have observed relationships around me, be it mother-daughter, siblings, partners, friends, very closely. Additionally, from a very young age, I’ve read Premchand extensively. His stories have struck an emotional chord within me. From then, I have known that I want to write about relationships and love.

I love writing crime thrillers with intriguing plots and complex characters. To build an intense story that grips the reader is gratifying to me as a writer. I enjoy deep-diving into the minds of my characters and that often leads to interesting revelations that help my storytelling.
